Alexandra OCHIROVA

Ms. Alexandra Ochirova was born in Moscow in 1949. She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University in 1972 and obtained her PhD in Philosophy at the Academy of Sciences.

 

Ms. Ochirova was elected a member of the State Duma (Parliament of the Russian Federation) and Vice President of the International Affairs Committee in 1993. She has been a Member of the Board of the Presidential Council for the implementation of priority national projects and demographic policy since 2006.  

 

Ms. Ochirova served as a Member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the Commission on Social Development, and Chairperson of the Commission on Social and Demographic Policy. She was also a Member of the Organizing Committee, and regularly participated in the International Women’s Summits, as well as the International Conference on Population and Development (Cairo, 1995) and the UN World Summit for Social Development (Copenhagen, 1995).

 

In 1990, Ms. Ochirova founded the International Women Center “Women’s Future”. She is still the President of this Center, one of the primary non-government organizations in the Russia Federation and famous for its innovative social programs and projects at providing medical, social, and other assistance to vulnerable social groups, primarily to women and children in difficulty. The Center participates in various charity events and international conferences on humanitarian issues, and the situation of women and children in particular.

 

Ms. Ochirova is a member of several international academic associations and non-governmental organizations. She is a Member of the Russian Union of Writers, and has been an Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts since 2011.

He is the Executive Committee Member of SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SAARC CCI), the Apex regional Trade Body of SAARC countries. He is also involved with the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), etc.

 

He is representing the private sector in different Government and Semi Government organizations of the country. He is the Directors of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Nuclear Power Plant Company Bangladesh Ltd and Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI), etc.

 

Mr. Mohiuddin started with his export oriented garments industry and has successfully diversified his business in other sectors like Garment Accessories, Real Estate, Shipping, Fishing Trawler, Dredging, Solar Energy, Auto Bricks, Handicrafts, etc. He has currently employed over six thousand people in his business group.

 

Besides business, he is actively involved in the social activities and holds positions of different social organizations. He is the Director of Trustee Board-BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT). He is also the Vice President of Society for Anti Addiction Movement (SAAM), Vice President of Centre of Excellence for Bangladesh Apparel Industry (CEBAI) and Vice President of Rugby Federation. Director of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Director of BGMEA Apparel Club and many more.

 

Mr. Mohiuddin obtained B.Com (Hon’s) M.Com degree in Accountancy.
