At the ceremony, Madam Arroyo expressed her wishes for PSRICC to serve as a bridge leading the Philippines to a key position in the Belt and Road Initiative, boosting Philippine tourism by attracting Chinese tourists, and jumping on the opportunity, the participation of the First China International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai this year, to expand Philippine export.

Mr. Francis Chua took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Madam Arroyo for her great contribution during her presidency to consolidating the national economy, promoting the friendship between the Philippines and China, as well as enhancing the cooperation among multiple sectors. Mr. Chua also highly evaluated Madam Arroyo's contribution to the welfare of overseas Chinese in the Philippines, to carrying out the policy of i-card updating every five years, and to offering Permanent Residency to 150 Chinese families per year. Mr. Francis Chua deeply appreciated Madam Arroyo's support and guidance for PSRICC, and her acceptance as PSRICC permanent Honorary Chairman.
