8-9 March 2018, the 4th ICC Asian Pacific CEO Forum was held in Tokyo Japan. Delegates from different ICC national committees and Japanese business sectors attended the forum, all together 200 participants. Secretary General of ICC China Mr. Yu Jianlong was present at the forum with Ms. Yu Min from ICC Chinese National Committee.

 

Secretary General of ICC Japanese National Committee Nishitani Kazuo chaired the forum. ICC first vice chairman designate and Unilever chief executive Paul Polman, ICC secretary general John Danilovich were the keynote speakers.

 

Mr. Polman indicated in his speech that global business community can play an important role in dealing with climate change, green energy and sustainable development. The environmental problems and the gap between the rich and poor are affecting the interests of the business world. The cost of neglection is higher than action. He called the business community to apply the UN sustainable goals into their development plan to make contribution in implementation.

The forum was also focused on newest technology impact onto the trade and employment in Asian and Pacific region, and creativity and innovation can assist in realizing UN sustainable development goals. Mr. Jemal Inaishvili, Ms. Cherie Nursalim, and Mr. Takeo Harada from Japanese Institute for International Strategy and Information Analysis participated in the discussion.
