Jemal Inaishvili, Honorary Chairman of SRCIC, attends the CEI Meeting of the Senior Management of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry

On June 8, 2017, the CEI MInisterial Conference on Promoting Connectivity was held in Minsk, Belarus, on the theme "Promoting Connectivity in the CEI Region: Bridging the Gap between Europe and Asia", to better support the Belt and Road Initiative.

 

H.E. Mr. Andrey Kobyakov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, said that Belarus wants to strengthen its connectivity on infrastructure between European countries under the framework of the Belt and Road. He also expressed his hope that during the Belarussian CEI presidency, Belarus can attract more European investments for infrastructure. And the CEI Ministerial Conference on promoting connectivity between Europe and Asia is in coherence with the Belarussian foreign policy.

 

The participants of the meetings spoke highly of the Belt and Road Initiative and the opportunities afforded by it. They also underscored their willing to join in the Belt and Road, to enhance policy- and strategy-matching, to finally make a contribution to the region and the world.

 

In the meantime, the CEI Meeting of the Senior Management of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry was held, which focused on means to strengthen connectivity under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

 

H.E. Mr. V. Makei said that the business cooperation in CEI is of significant importance to the future of the organization. And Belarus will spare no effort in supporting the regional economic integration.

Mr. Jemal Inaishvili, Honorary Chairman of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, said that the meeting offers a positive example to promote the connectivity and practical cooperation in Eurasia, and for Eurasian business communities to enjoy the opportunities together. The bilateral and multilateral business cooperation mechanisms are essential to the development of the Belt and Road. In the face of global economic challenges, we should make full use of the existing bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms to ensure the development of the Belt and Road.

On September 8th, 2017, Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce will host the the 2017 Silk Road Business Summit and Silk Road International Culture Week (the Summit) in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China. During the meeting, Mr. Inaishvili invited all the participating business leaders on behalf of Chairman Lu Jianzhong of the SRCIC to attend the Summit in Xi'an.
