China to extend cooperation with CEECs in green, low-carbon, digital and health industries
8 May 2023

China will give full play to its huge market potential and take advantage of the geographical location of the Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs), to expand cooperation in new fields such as green, digital and health industries in addition to traditional areas, said Yu Yuantang, an official with the country's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).

Talking at a press conference concerning the third China-CEEC Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair, Yu noted that China and the CEECs are key partners under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), all taking vital place in global industrial chain and supply chain, with high degree of economic complementarity, smooth connectivity and dynamic two-way investments. All these characteristics contribute to the rapid trade growth between China and CEECs. Thus, trade cooperation between China and the CEECs is expected to see a rosy future.

In the first quarter of this year, China's imports from the CEECs saw soaring growth in the products of carbonate, laser, essential oils, whey and corn, according to Yu.
