Internship for students from Fulbright-Hays Program in SRCIC
1 Mar 2019

On 28 February 2019, seven students from Fulbright-Hays Program ended their two weeks' internship in SRCIC. They are all from top universities of the United States including Stanford University, New York University, University of Massachusetts Boston and University of Colorado.

On the same day, SRCIC held the closing ceremony, also called internship report meeting. Four students who worked in the Cooperation and Development Department of SRCIC presented their constructive opinions respectively on how to construct the business model and how to develop the potential customer.

Ken Li, SRCIC Deputy Secretary General awarded the internship certificates to the students and highly praised their working performance. He also hoped that these students would act as the cultural envoys between China and the United States. Ms. Monisha Pillai from New York University extended her gratitude to SRCIC for providing this precious opportunity by saying that it is the first time she has an internship in China. Through these learning and working days, she knows well the Belt and Road Initiative and better understands the active role of SRCIC in the international exchanges. The harmonious working atmosphere also impressed her a lot, she added.

Fulbright-Hays Program is one of high-end scholarship programs granted by the US government for overseas study and research. The study in China was applied by University of Massachusetts Boston, and Shaanxi Normal University is designated as the only receiving institution in China. Since 2013, the program started to recruit outstanding students from top leading universities in the US for further study in Shaanxi Normal University with full scholarship. As a strategic partner of Shaanxi Normal University, SRCIC has provided internship opportunities for the students for three consecutive years.
